Ingredients:
- Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup ajvar (red pepper-based relish, available in stores or homemade)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup olives, pitted and sliced
- Fresh herbs, such as basil or oregano (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chili flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you’re using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
- Prepare the Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer it to a baking sheet or a pizza stone lined with parchment paper.
- Spread the Ajvar: Using a spoon, evenly spread the ajvar on the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust. You can adjust the amount depending on how strong you want the ajvar flavor to be.
- Add Toppings: Drizzle olive oil over the ajvar sauce. Then, layer the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the pizza. Add crumbled feta cheese if you’re using it, and scatter the red onion, bell pepper, and olives on top.
- Season: Sprinkle salt, pepper, and any additional herbs or chili flakes over the pizza for extra flavor.
- Bake the Pizza: Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
- Serve: Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly. Slice and serve hot. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
