Spicy Ajvar and Charcuterie Cheese Platter

A more robust, spicy variation with a mix of cheese and charcuterie.

Ingredients:

  • Ajvar (spicy or medium heat)
  • Cheeses:
    • Smoked provolone
    • Blue cheese
    • Creamy brie
  • Meats:
    • Prosciutto
    • Salami
    • Chorizo
  • Pickles: Gherkins or pickled onions
  • Bread: Sliced baguette, crusty bread, or crackers
  • Fresh fruit: Pear slices and grapes
  • Honey (optional, for drizzling over the blue cheese)

Instructions:

  1. Arrange the Cheeses: Slice the smoked provolone and brie, then leave the blue cheese whole for cutting. Place them on the platter.
  2. Add the Charcuterie: Arrange the prosciutto, salami, and chorizo on the platter in folds or rolls.
  3. Add Ajvar: Spoon ajvar into small bowls and place them strategically for easy dipping.
  4. Add Pickles and Bread: Place a few gherkins or pickled onions on the platter for tangy contrast. Add slices of baguette and crackers for guests to use.
  5. Finish with Fresh Fruit: Add pear slices and grapes for sweetness. Drizzle honey over the blue cheese if desired for a balanced contrast to the spice of the ajvar.
